Junior year

by Kristi on September 1, 2024

The first week of school always makes for a fun adventure. This year, for the first day, I double-checked with G what time he planned on waking up. “I’m going to set my alarm for 6:20.” Okay then. I got up… at some weird hour but ended up planning my workout so it would end […]

16th Birthday

by Kristi on March 31, 2024

Happy birthday to my incredibly kind, thoughtful, and introspective son! He is 16 today and the changes in the last two years alone have been amazing. But looking back and seeing the baby years, his accomplishments, and how he’s grown has been special. Being able to see him grow, learn, and embrace adventure has been […]

Jack

by Kristi on October 29, 2023

We had our “Into the Woods” era this summer with Huston Performing Arts and then the high school performance after that. The kids are doing a competition in February and since they all know the songs, they are doing it a THIRD time! The music had constantly been in my head. Over and over again. […]

2023 Theater Banquet

by Kristi on June 17, 2023

This year was special as both kids were in musical theater together. Slightly bittersweet as this will be the ONLY year they will be at school together as G is transferring to a different high school. Beyond the benefits of Sam being the official chauffeur, they were in zero period Intermediate Theater and the last […]

I think I am sending my youngest to an overnight programming class at iD Tech at UC Irvine this summer! I’m so nervous about it. My daughter is now 12 but we sent her to a Girl Scout (Camp Scherman) summer camp when she was going into 3rd grade. It was such a great experience for […]

Yearly Checkup

by Kristi on May 25, 2016

We had our 10yo and 8you yearly checkup yesterday. It went well. My 10yo is staying about the same on her weight chart which is what we have been watching. For awhile she was going down so the hunt for the perfect amount of calories a day was quite a struggle. So the 8yo jumps […]

A Day of Taekwondo

by Kristi on March 1, 2014

My kids work really hard at Taekwondo and it shows. My baby has been doing it for almost two years now? He has his brown belt and a record number of stripes this testing period (31!). He will be achieving his senior brown belt today. Here he is watching his sister get ready to test […]

Sweet

by Kristi on July 25, 2013

Not to be outdone from yesterday’s post… I love this photo of GG and I. He is looking so sweetly into my eyes, while he plays with my hair. This photo reminds me of who he is right now. This boy is so sweet, so thoughtful, and he is insanely curious. While he […]

Slow Summer Mornings

by Kristi on June 27, 2013

My baby woke up early because of some SILLY huge truck squeaking his breaks verrrryyyyy slooowwwwllllyyyyyy down our hill. SO annoying. But as I helped him get his bathroom on, I held out my arms to him and he willingly jumped into my lap and bowed his head to curl it under mine and snuggle […]

by Kristi on March 8, 2013

YES! This is how I feel too. Such a good writeup. S loves to do EVERYTHING. She wants to do everything all the time however lately she has been acknowledging that she can only do certain things. We are at: Voice lessons on Monday, Taekwondo for G Art class on Tuesday,  Taekwondo for G Gymnastics for both on […]

Do you see this face? This is one of my favorite faces. It’s made better by the HUGE grin on his face because he is doing Taekwondo. We finally signed him up! Hubby found a Yorba Linda Martial Arts Center near our house. We had actually been to another popular place with Sam a few times. […]
