Ugh. Monday’s suck. For several reasons although I won’t go into them because some are not my stories to tell. I love you though. xoxox
The day started off well though. We went to Stroller Strides so Mommie could get some exercise. Sammie LOVES it. She plays in her stroller and has tons of fun watching me jump up and down, do abs, etc. When we jog down the street she beats her hand on her tray shrieking…’Faster, Mommie, faster!!!’ Ha ha ha. Oh well. I’m getting there. I love the class though. Jenn really mixes it up so it’s different everytime. We did a lot of running today so I’m not as sore as last week. I’m going to miss Wednesday but Friday I will be back!
“50 more sit-ups, Mom!”
Well, I finally have had it about her naps. I think I was close to tearing my hair out. So we tried CIO (cry-it-out) for her naps. I already DID this at 3 months and we had a great schedule going. But we went on vacation and we got off of it, and I never went back! So, here we are again….
She had a late nap because of the Stroller fun today and didn’t get up until 11:40 so I delayed her afternoon nap until I thought I had a good chance of her going down soon to ‘teach’ her again how to go to sleep herself. We started at 3:05. She fell asleep in 30 min. Whew. I thought we were going to have to go an hour at least. I went in there at 5 min, then 10 min later, then 15 min later I crept upstairs. She was tiring out, I could hear it. I didn’t want to go in and piss her off anymore so I was listening in at the door. She was sniffling, which seriously breaks my heart. She let out another cry and I was about to open the door again but she stopped.
I opened the door very very quietly, and she was lying down with her eyes closed. Wow. She hasn’t cried yet so I think she’s down for good.
I think this will be good for both of us. If I can put her down at her naps and she goes down with no crying or a few minutes, she will get so much better sleep and hopefully sleep better at night. I will also be a happier Mommie because I have some time to myself so that way ‘our’ time will be more quality. Her night sleeping is horrible too. The naps should help that. The more sleep she gets in the afternoon the better she gets at night. (I know, it sounds odd, but it really works!) The past three nights she was up at 12:30, which meant our bed for the rest of the night. Big sigh of relief for me… I’m so glad we got past this first day again. It’s so hard to listen to her cry but I’m so happy that we are on a better path for naps.
So today is her 10 month birth day… Happy month day! She is such a big girl. My weight loss did nothing this month. 🙂 I think all the stress and anxiety did it for me as I hardly even bothered to ‘be good’ at eating. Oh well. I didn’t really go up any… and the new exercise program should help.
All Done!
