Question of the Day

Yesterday at Gymboree we had our question of the day to start off class. The question was, ‘Who does your baby look like in your family’ and a secondary follow-up question was ‘Whose personality does your baby take after’.

I didn’t really catch the second question when Tiffany said it so I was thinking of the first one only when it was my turn. I said that many people say Sam looks like me some days, only to comment that she looks like her Daddy the next time they see her. She has my nose and lips, too. Then, Tiffany asked me about her personality.

I was a little surprised because I hadn’t had time to think about her personality so I said I didn’t know! Hmm…

So, we were at dinner tonight and I was telling J about the question. He asked me what I said.. and I told him I didn’t really say anything! I asked him what he thought.

He said that Sam definitely took after my personality. That was shocking to me! Was it her loud screams when she wanted to be picked up? Her fussy times during the day that reminded my wonderful husband of my personality?

I asked him what he meant.

He said, ‘Well, she’s really mellow.”

Wow. I would NEVER describe myself as mellow. Never. High maintenance would be a term I would give myself. Stubborn. A-Type. Inquisitive. Demanding.

Mellow? Notsomuch.

I just thought that was funny. 🙂 BTW, the picture is from Oregon when we visited in July. Sam has more hair now, doesn’t she?
