Sam’s always been a fan of surprises. Her genuine happiness and gratitude for polka dots, exciting trips, soccer games, white boards, and even a new car has always been so enjoyable to see. As she’s gotten older, it’s been harder to surprise her but so rewarding and nostalgic to watch it back on video.
Grateful for the memories that I’ve been able to capture so we can relive it again.
In four days, my baby will officially be an adult but I get to continually rewatch the memories of…
- The two-year-old who smiled so sweetly and kissed the walls in appreciation of her polka dots.
- The six-year-old who had oodles of excitement about a trampoline showing up in her backyard.
- The cutie who memorized the drive to Disneyland and always knew where we were going even when we pretended we were going on boring errands.
- The seven-year-old who was so happy she could cry when she finally got her “big girl” booster seat and didn’t have to sit in her horrid baby car seat.
- The nine-year-old excitement of celebrating her big TENTH birthday in New York City.
- The excitement of being surprised with a Disney Cruise with her Grandma JJ.
- Overdosing on the overwhelming emotions of the ten-year-old who earned her first Black Belt in Taekwondo and got to see her beloved US Women’s soccer team play. Where she couldn’t even speak over the surprise of it.
- On her eleventh birthday, finally getting access to an iPhone (with no data!) so she could text her friends.
- The real and honest reaction of a twelve-year-old being surprised with a new desk and whiteboard – and the outrage from her Mom hiding in her closet to film it.
- To an eighteen-year-old being given by a new car from her Grandma.
Happy almost Birthday, Sammie Leigh. <3
