Oreo Cooking Baking Away…

Well, Oreo Cookie is doing very nicely in my tummy apparently. 🙂 We went in and she took us to the ultrasound room right away. The dr came in and said that since I was so far along she would do the tummy ultrasound instead of the wand (yay). She put it on and we could see a blob right away. I kept looking… and looking… but I couldn’t see a heartbeat. She was moving it all around saying she was looking for twins (no twins!) and then she settled on the picture.

I scrutinized it and Justin hovered by my feet trying to look around her head to see the image.. and she said, “See, there is the heartbeat” and I looked closely and couldn’t see anything! LOL – It was a very old machine but then if I looked really really really closely you could see a pulsating of the black and white dots. It was so tiny. But very nice. 🙂

Then she went to grab the doppler and fiddled around and then came the faint sound of the heartbeat whooshing along. What a nice comforting feeling!

See the nice BLOB in the middle? The head is on the left side. Boo. I just remembered I forgot to ask her if she could tell where the placenta is! Last time it was in front so I missed SO MUCH of the kicking and moving around. I’m sure it was nice to not be woken up constantly but I kind of want to feel everything this time. I never understood how some Mom’s always knew if an elbow was poking out of a heel. I just knew something was faintly moving. 🙂

Next appt is in 4 weeks. October 5th. OMG, I just realized I am totally leaving that day for Vegas! haha! Oh well. I don’t think we are leaving until noon anyway. Well, now we aren’t. 🙂 My appt is early and there is never any wait, which is nice. Although I’m still switching drs in two months. She is a very nice dr, I simply want my old one back along with St Joeseph’s hospital.
