Christmas Prep

The looks of joy that appear on my kids faces when we pull out Christmas items is just epic. If you have kids, you know what I’m talking about. The excitement of every small little things makes my heart happy.

We were driving around Big Bear yesterday and the winter weather and decorative lights up made them so excited. It made ME excited. People will always ask ‘what is your favorite season’ and I never know what I like best… until December rolls around and I REALLY love driving around looking at lights, smelling the winter smells, and having a fire. LOVE IT!

We usually don’t do Christmas decorations until after Sam’s birthday (which is in TWO WEEKS, AHH!) but since we usually clean up everything on the 26th the last few years because of various reasons, I really wanted to be sure we got a full MONTH out of everything. Or at least small partial amounts…

So I pulled out our bannister lights and we strung them up. One doesn’t work but oh well. I’ll worry about that later. Then, I grabbed two strands and put them above the kids windows for Christmas ‘night lights’. They were so thrilled.

After, I got a small cleaning bug. Sam’s room is such a disaster. I ended up going through half of her stuffed animals for donation. Luckily she was in a ‘give away’ mood too. This weekend we need to go through her closet.
