Why Should You Use Swag Bucks?

I’m very addicted to Swag Bucks lately. About six months ago I kept seeing a friend in Facebook posting these SwagBuck updates and then she kept saying she was getting Amazon gift certificates!

How do I get in on that!? So, I finally asked her about it and she told me the scoop. I signed up under her referral code since I learned about it from her. I enthusiastically started searching and trying to find swag codes.

For about a week. After that it got annoying and lame. I had about 100 bucks but… What was that going to get me!?

I was using the Chrome browser so I couldn’t use the toolbar. So that meant I had to go to the swag site to search and do everything and I just couldn’t remember.

Right after Christmas I ran across a blog that talked about it and she said she had earned over $480 last year in either Amazon or Paypal money. Seriously?

In reading the blog, it just all clicked with me. I’m certainly no SwagBucks expert now but I have taken advantage of a lot of tips that I’ve learned.

Here are a few…

First off, what browser do you use? If you use Internet Explorer or Firefox, download the SwagBucks Toolbar. This will enable you to:
– earn 1 point for just opening your browser every day and be able to search directly from your toolbar.

Win: 1 a day

Chrome: I actually use Chrome for my regular browsing so I have configured my search bar to default to Swag search. Half the time I’m not thinking and search from the toolbar when I need something and a lot of times I win! I usually copy my term and go straight to google but it’s an effortless search.

How to:

1. Right-click the search bar at the top of Chrome and choose “Edit search engines,” then click the “Add” button.
2. Enter “Swagbucks.com” in the first two fields, and this string — http://www.swagbucks.com/?t=w&p=1&q=%s — in the third field marked “URL.”
3. Click OK, then highlight the new Swagbucks.com search entry and click the “Make Default” button.
4. Click close.

Win: 7-15 a day. This is with me doing 5-10 searches a day.

Daily Points – once you are within the Swag site after searching, go to the Earn pulldown and select Trusted Surveys. Boom. Don’t actually DO a survey though. They are impossible to get chosen for and half the time you take half the survey, or the whole thing and then they say you don’t qualify. Lame!

Win: 1 point a day

After Trusted Surveys go to Daily Poll and take it. It takes 15 seconds. Boom

Win: 1 point a day

So that is 3 points you can win a day automatically. I know, it doesn’t add up to that much! But wait…

Swag Codes – the swaggies are a strange and wild bunch. Just visit their Facebook wall 🙂 But they post crazy codes *almost* every day of the work week. They are only available for 30min to an hour after they post the code and I love the fact that I have a few Swag friends because when they get the code, I see their status update from when’d they post the code and I know to go look.

Many times the code will be in your toolbar, or on their blog, and other times you have to figure it out. Some are hard so I don’t bother and others are super easy. It just depends. I am usually able to grab two or three codes a week.

Win: 5-15 a code

So with the regular bucks you can get a day, the random searches (7-15 a day), plus any swag codes out there, I am earning about 25 a day.

I also configured my Facebook to post every time I won bucks from a code, a search, and when I exchange them for something. I may adjust those but it’s nice because simply adding it to Facebook once or twice a day has already got me a few referrals.

Here are the settings that you can change around. I will probably take off the search notifications if it gets to be too much in the future.

When you get a referral you don’t get anything until they start winning bucks from searching. I would get up to 1,000  bucks from your searches. So it’s not that much but every bit counts!

There are a lot more opportunities to win by purchasing deals, using their coupons, and a heck of a lot more. If you are tempted to buy any of the Groupon’s or Living Social deals that come up, go to the Swag Bucks site first because if you buy them through the site, you get 300-400 swag bucks.

Around Christmas time this site will pay off!
