Book Review: To Sin with a Stranger by Kathryn Caskie

Kathryn Caskie is a USA Today bestselling author with her past trilogy series of the Royle Sisters. The series was written very well and Kathryn is on my list of ‘buys’ when she comes out with a new novel.  That, plus the fact she writes with Avon Books (my favorite publishing company), and I usually buy all authors by Avon Books the last Tuesday of the month when they come out.

Except, of course, when certain bookstores don’t put the books out the day they are SUPPOSED to be out. 🙂 I had to go hunt down this post because I remembered writing it! ha!

To Sin with a Stranger is part of a new series about the Sinclairs of Scotland, or the Seven Deadly Sins.  A family of seven brothers and sisters who are forced out of Scotland to live in London by their father and redeem themselves from their past misdeeds.

The book tells the story of Sterling Sinclair, the Marquess of Blackburn, and Isobel Carington. Kathryn does a good job of telling the story with lots of humor and fun romance tied in.  Sterling meets Isobel in a fighting club and it is weird that it seems to be more books lately focused on fighting and boxing, etc.  That sport seems to be growing in popularity, although in the Regency era it was always popular. Anyway, Isobel is very spunky regarding her charities and ends up going into the fighting club and stepping into the two fighters which seemed a little crazy.  Her love of a particular charity is because of a previous loss of her brother from the war and makes Isobel sympathetic and real.  The first encounter, and Sterling’s actions regarding a certain bet wagered at the White’s Club, then leads the characters and the ton into a whirlwind romance.

I believe that the book is first in a series of seven, which makes me a little tired for some reason.  It seemed like all the siblings are getting perfectly set up with their own story but it wasn’t overdone so I am curious to learn more about them and I will probably end up buying them all! Here is the link to Amazon to learn more about To Sin With a Stranger.
