We had a full weekend!!
Friday
Friday night we came home and crashed on the couch after Sam went to sleep. We had DVR’d ‘Survivor’ as we are big fans and wanted to see the first episode. It was great. They have them separated out by races and, wow, it was crazy. I think the ‘whites’ are going down. I like the asian group. I have to learn their names.
Saturday
We had Grandma Sharon babysitting in the afternoon. We went to go see ‘The Last Kiss’ with Zach Braff. It was really good. A good relationship movie that both of us liked. We had lunch first at the Block and had wraps. Yum. We came home to pick up Sam and we were going to go to the Fiesta.
The San Antionio Fiesta has SO many old school memories. Most of them drama memories but that was what made it fun. Going around spying on crushes, getting confetti eggs and smashing them on friends heads, funnel cake.. Yum. Anyway, J had promised me that we would go this year! But Jason & Natalie called and said they were getting people together for a dinner because Ryan Newman was home for a few weeks! Since we haven’t seen him since his wedding, oh, four years ago??? So we dropped our Fiesta plans and went back to the Block to have dinner! 🙂 It was so much fun!
Ryan just got out of the Army and is thinking about moving to Idaho with his wife Janna and daughter Brynn. Janna is not out from Kansas yet, she will be coming later this week. Hopefully we will get to see her again, as well as their daughter Brynn. They might come over on Thursday for poker night!
Newman came to dinner with Kim Volmer, who I didn’t even recognize (hence the ‘Hi, I’m Kristi!’ – and her ‘I KNOW you! I’m Kim!’), so holy cow, that was kinda funny. 🙂 It was good to see her again. We also saw Danny & Jessica, my brother-in-law Roy & his ‘friend’ Erica (haha Roy, I got a PICTURE of you two… so cute!), Jason & Natalie of course, and Dan Lee and his girlfriend Stacey, whom we have heard a lot about but have not met yet.
Sam was extra awesome that night and was smiling and having tons of fun. She also only screamed for about five minutes on the way home so that was even better.
Sunday
Sunday we did some shopping, got end tables for our living room (NOT glass ones – we have to get rid of them, anyone want some pretty glass tables?), and then… went to the Fiesta!! Yay! I made J go in the hot hot sun for lunch on Sunday. We had a hamburger, fed Sam some lunch, listened to a bunch of cute kids sing on the stage, had some funnel cake, walked around, and Justin won ‘Wally the Walrus’ for Sammy on the balloon dart throw.
When we stopped in to get some funnel cake we also ran into Mr & Mrs McMillan! Wow, talk about blast from the past this whole weekend. They are the parents of Paige McMillan, who I haven’t seen for years, but met in grade school and we were good friends! I got the update on her, chatted with her parents for awhile, and told them to tell Paige I said hi. I had actually heard about Paige a few weeks ago from Krysta, she has twins and is expecting a baby boy next month. Wow, how we all grow up so fast. 🙂
So, yea, I got my Fiesta in. Now it’s relaxing time and hopefully time for Sammy to have a NAP!
The picture above on the right is my hubby and his good buddy, Ryan, at dinner. 🙂
Here are some photos of our dinner last night, plus a few others from the past few weeks of Sam.
xoxo
