Wooo! Another earthquake this morning and it was centered in Yorba Linda! Woo! It was a 3.2 but we felt it. 🙂 It woke hubby up, the dogs were looking around, and Sam and I were in the living room watching Elmo and she was looking around. It was little but I wasn’t sure what to do! haha! Reading Paige’s blog yesterday about being prepared really hit me! I know Sam is to little right now but sheesh, we have to TEACH our kids these things! That always wigs me out. Poor little baby, depending on ME to teach her things. How do they let us have kids without taking some kind of course? It’s crazy.
So, last night she woke up at 1:30 and I talked her back down without a bottle!!!! Yea!!! The last three nights she has slept through the night (well, a few whines here and there but she always went back down). Last night though she was making a lot of noise so I had to go in. All her friends were on the floor, I think she tossed them before she went to sleep. So I put them all back in and sat with her on the glider and chatted. She didn’t want me to sing. She didn’t want me to tell a story. So I just kept asking her questions and rocking and patting her back. She asked for milk but I said it was nighttime and she could have it in the morning. Explained that Papa was sleeping, as was everyone else, and I wanted to go to sleep too. 🙂 Finally told her that I was going to sing her the Goodnight song and I sang a few extra verses and put her down and she went down! Miracle.
We’ve had a fun weekend though. Friday was the beach at Newport with Krysta and her family. She had tons of fun, slept on the way home, slept in her crib for another few hours and then we went to dinner. She proceeded to have a hissy fit at dinner and we had to WALK OUT and get our food to go!!! First time for that. We are starting to feel the tantrums….
Saturday we went to the Aqurium of the Pacific. It was fun, but again she threw tons of tantrums. She didn’t want to be in her stroller, she wanted to be running around… which meant into people, in and out of the rope lines, and generally not where we wanted her to go. So we left and walked around the Long Beach park/harbour and got some of her energy out. Until she touched a light on the ground which was boiling hot from the sun and burned her hands. 🙁 So she fell asleep in the car again, slept in her crib for another few hours, and then we woke up and melted from the heat.
I must say, I really love these 3 hours naps each day. 🙂
Sunday, J worked and I went to the beach with Mom & John… We went to San Clemente to visit my Aunty Wendy and her family. It was so hot. It was worse than hot. I can’t beleive the beach was so hot. And the water was soooo cold. We went in and I literally couldn’t dunk under the waves because it took my breathe away! Sam did have fun but she doesn’t like the water, nor does she like the sand. 🙂 Other than that, she enjoyed everyone and playing on the towel. Again, she slept all the way home and then in her crib. Nice. 🙂
Today she is going to have fun with Grandma and we are going to dinner and a movie tonight. Yea!
What a great weekend. 🙂 I can’t wait for it to be cooler though. This heat is awful.
